OSHA Penalty Increases Effective January 2025
As of January 15, 2025, OSHA has officially increased its penalties for safety violations. These changes are especially important for roofing contractors, where fall protection and PPE compliance are critical.
🔍 Updated Penalty Structure:
Serious or Other-than-Serious Violations: $16,550 per violation
Willful or Repeated Violations: $165,514 per violation
Failure to Abate: $16,550 per day past the abatement date
These increases reflect OSHA’s intensified focus on workplace safety enforcement. Roofing contractors must take proactive steps to avoid costly fines and ensure worker protection.
